An introduction to Burrows

Burrows Motor Company is a family owned company serving the local community. It was established in 1999 by local man, Steve Burrows, and has grown to nine sites and three franchises covering South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and North Yorkshire.

Family and community play a major part in the Burrows workplace, not only with the Burrows family members themselves but also with the many employees having partners and children working with them in the business. As a very people focused business the relationship between our customers, our people and our manufacturers continues to be the mainstay of the culture of our company.

Working alongside the community and offering a helping hand is really what Burrows is all about. Whether sponsoring local sports groups, from grass-roots football kits to cycling groups, to participating in the Macmillan Coffee Morning or the Christmas Jumper Day, all of our teams join in.

The Search for A Star programme not only provides valuable employability skills training and work experience, it also leads to several of the school leavers being appointed as apprentices, so we can continue to build the Burrows team with new young "stars" from our community.

If you've got the will, we will give you the skill.

What do Burrows do?

Burrows Motor Company represent Toyota, Kia and Mazda across eight sites, located in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham, Sheffield, York, and Worksop. We also operate Burrows Mint Cars, a used car operation in Sheffield.

We open our doors each day with the purpose of selling new and used cars and vans, as well as servicing, repairing and maintaining cars and selling car parts to customers and other trade businesses.

Who do we employ?

We look for the best people to fill positions such as Customer Consultants, Service Advisors, Vehicle Technicians, Bodyshop Technicians, Digital Assistants, IT Assistants, Accounts Clerks and many more!

In fact at each of our main sites we have over 37 different job positions. We employ individuals with the right attitude, who are willing to learn and work as part of a team and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.

Why an apprenticeship at Burrows could be the right choice for you:

An apprenticeship at Burrows will allow you to earn whilst combining classroom and on-the-job training. All our training programmes are nationally recognised, and the Level 3 Vehicle Technician Apprenticeship has been designed, and run, by the Toyota Academy.

Throughout your apprenticeship you will be guided by a Burrows mentor, who is there to help and support you. They will ensure that your on-the-job training allows you to develop personally, gain the appropriate skills and help you gain an understanding of how the business operates.

Virtually all Burrows apprentices remain within the Burrows family with a full time position, with an opportunity to further develop their skills. This can lead to promotion and a higher salary in the future.
