Insurance companies use aggressive steering techniques to direct you to their Approved Repair Network, this could be completely different than the Manufacturer Approved Repair Network. Why do they do this? It helps them control their costs as they could agree to non-genuine manufacturer parts and even second had parts (green parts they like to call them) which runs the risk of any warranty being null and void. How do they do this? Often they will increase your excess payments, or refuse a courtesy car unless you use their choice. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE YOUR REPAIRER.
