There is no stopping Sam as he has recently been promoted to Fleet Sales Support.

Here we ask Sam questions about his apprenticeship, life at Burrows Motor Company and his aspirations for the future.

Why were you attracted to an apprenticeship at Burrows Motor Company?

When I initially started looking for an apprenticeships Burrows sounded like a great company to consider, I was unsure whether this would be the right apprenticeship for me until I attended the open evening at Burrows Toyota Barnsley. After receiving the information at the evening event, I knew this was the apprenticeship I wanted.

What did you like best about your apprenticeship?

The element I enjoyed the most about my apprenticeship was the progression opportunities, I initially started my journey with Burrows as an Administrator but later progressed onto new job roles such as Fleet Sales Support and now a Fleet Sales Executive. I believe this demonstrates why an apprenticeship with Burrows is such a fantastic opportunity.

What is a typical day in your job like for you?

I primarily work with local businesses and my main responsibility is to facilitate the sale of our commercial vehicles. As I’m working with local businesses this does mean my role varies from day to day and I don’t have a definitive structure as to how my day or week will go. I often find my self out of the office meeting with new and repeat customers, my role is to continue building a relationship with our customers in order to generate sales. I also need to reach out to customers that may not be aware of the vehicle range we can offer and I do this through social media, networking and more. Of course, I also have the odd admin duty to complete as well.

What were your first impression of Burrows Motor Company?

My first impressions of Burrows Motor Company were that it was a company that really wanted to provide excellent opportunities for young people within the local area. Burrows came across as an incredibly warm and welcoming place to work.

What are your career aspirations?

My career ambitions are to continue progressing and one day achieve a position in a managerial role. I know if I continue to demonstrate the willingness to learn Burrows will support me on my journey.

Why would you recommend an apprenticeship at Burrows to other young people?

My apprenticeship has undoubtedly allowed me to grow into a better person both in a professional and personal life. I don’t think there’s any better example as to why this is one of the best apprenticeships to consider.
