Hyundai i30 N

Due to be launched in the UK by the end of 2017

The new Hyundai i30 N is bred on the racetrack and has been developed to offer maximum driver enjoyment. Delivering 275 PS (with the optional performance package) to the front wheels through a slick 6-speed manual transmission, the turbo-charged 2.0 litre T-GDI engine has been fine-tuned for maximum responsiveness and a linear power delivery. Electronic Controlled Suspension (ECS) is also on offer to make sure that the i30 N is best-suited to the requirements of the racetrack.

Rev-matching technology aids the driving experience further by ensuring perfectly-timed down-shifts. An Electronic Limited Slip Differential (E-LSD) is also on hand to achieve maximum levels of grip when cornering at high speed. To give it its sporty soundtrack, the i30 N comes with an adjustable double muffler exhaust and Electronic Sound Generator (ESG) with selectable sound modes. The highly customisable five driving modes, including N and N Custom make the i30 N the perfect car for tearing up the track or doing the school run, this race car for the road truly is the car for all occasions.

The N in the name honours the Hyundai Research and Development plant in Namyang, Korea, and the famous Nurburgring racetrack at which the i30 N was extensively tested and honed. In addition to this, the i30 N benefits highly from Hyundai Motorsport’s successful experience in WRC racing.

In order to make it stand out above the regular i30, the i30 N is available with exclusive 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels clad in performance Michelin or Pirelli tyres, it also features a cascading grille, horizontal LED daytime running lights and air intakes positioned on the front bumper. To aid aerodynamics further, a unique front splitter and rear wing spoiler give maximum levels of downforce. Six high-performance colours make the i30 N stand out even further, including Performance Blue, Clean Slate, Polar White, Micron Grey and Phantom Black or Engine Red. The race-inspired theme continues on the inside with an TFT electronic instrument display, variable LED rev-counter and body hugging sports bucket seats. To stay connected, a 5.0-inch or optional 8.0-inch touch screen is available featuring navigation, performance and lap time data and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to seamlessly pair any smartphone. A wireless inductive charging pad for mobile phones and seven-year free subscription to LIVE Services are also available. The i30 N carries over the class-leading safety features from its i30 counterpart such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Driver Attention Alert (DAA), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) and High Beam Assist (HBA).
