Toyota have revealed a new Land Cruiser at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. Throughout its 65 years of being one of the world’s toughest and most reliable 4x4s the Land Cruiser remains true to its ability to combine outstanding quality, durability, reliability, off-road performance and ever-greater levels of luxury and comfort.
The new Land Cruiser inherits this reputation but with more styling, sophistication, comfort and improvements to its performance both on and off the roads. The cabin features front seat ventilation, rear seat heating and automatic climate control. While electric features have been added for further convenience: heated windscreen, heated washer nozzles, reverse-tilting door mirrors and a new smart key design.
Keeping its heritage, the grille features thick, chrome vertical bars with slit-shaped cooling openings. To create a more athletic and dynamic look the front bumper has been raised and the wing line plus the front and rear bumpers have been aligned.
You have a choice of six-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels as well as high-gloss painted 18-inch alloys or a new 12-spoke 19-inch machine finished alloy. According to the market, the new Land Cruiser will be available in ten different body colours, including new Midnight Emerald Blue and Avant-Garde Bronze metallic.
Inside the new Land Cruiser it features a revised dashboard for a much sleeker appearance. Included is a fitted 8-inch full-colour multimedia system which presents comprehensive vehicle and infotainment data.
There will be three powertrains available: 2.8-litre D-4D turbo diesel, 2.7-litre petrol and a 4.0-lite petrol engine. The 2.7-litre petrol engine generates 159bhp/120kW at 5,200rpm and maximum torque of 245Nm at 3,900rpm. When matched with a five-speed manual transmission, it can reach a top speed of 103mph and return average fuel consumption of 23.0mpg.
The new Land Cruiser will be equipped with Toyota Safety Sense technology that is to help prevent an accident or impact occurring. The package includes: Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert and Automatic High Beam.
