2019 Toyota RAV4

The fifth-generation model

The 2019 Toyota RAV4 has just made its European debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. While it still remains true to its heritage the new RAV4 features advanced powertrain technology, a dynamic performance, intelligent safety provisions and all-round quality.

  • To be introduced in the UK during the first quarter of 2019

The design of the world's best selling Toyota SUV creates a 'go anywhere' sense of adventure, with a target customer base of young families who enjoy life in and out of the town. The new RAV4 measures 4,600mm long where 30mm has been added to the wheelbase allowing more space and comfort within the cabin. While reductions have been made in the front and rear overhang.

Two new TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) powertrains have been introduced to the new RAV4 model:

  • 2.5-litre self-charging hybrid
  • 2.0-litre petrol

These are claimed to be more powerful and efficient than the current model. Toyota have said that the switch to the TNGA platform reduces the RAV4's centre of gravity and gives a better weight distribution.

  • 0-62mph in 8.1 seconds*
  • Maximum speed of 112mph*
  • Fuel consumption combined up to 61.4mpg*
  • CO2 emissions combined from 105g/km*

The award-winning Toyota Safety Sense will be available as standard on the new RAV4, taking safety to the next level. For a preview of some of the impressive new active technologies and driver aids: Pre-Collision System with night-time Pedestrian Detection, Pre-Collision System with Cyclist Detection, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, Full-range Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Trace Assist.
