There is going to be a new Toyota Hilux in town - the new Hilux Invincible 50. Toyota have teamed up with Arctic Trucks, the Iceland-based specialists in extreme terrain driving, to produce the new model, created to mark the Hilux's 50th anniversary.
The first 50 years of the Toyota Hilux have been packed with achievement confirmed by feats such as the conquest of both the North and South Poles, surviving tests of fire, water and explosives courtesy of the Top Gear television programme. Appropriately, there will be just 50 models available to customers in the UK at a price of £39,995.
New styling features of the Toyota Hilux Invincible include: bespoke, wider front and rear details that amplify the vehicles raised stance and muscular character. There are also four high-power Vision X lights positioned on a sports bar above the vehicle bed to provide a smooth and powerful light over a great distance for all driving terrains.
Other details include: Arctic Trucks mudflaps, rear parking sensors, a tough Line-X bed liner and a classic Toyota tailgate graphic. The number of the vehicle out of the 50 produced will be presented on a plaque in the cabin. There will also be Invincible 50 chrome badging and detailing featured on the wings, wheels, doors, tailgate, sports bar, lighting and interior. All models will also be finished in a black paintwork.
The Invincible 50 matches the specification of the standard Hilux Invincible. The double-cab model will be powered by a 148bhp 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine with a six-speed automatic transmission. Key equipment features on the Hilux Invincible 50 include: Toyota Safety Sense with Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Warning and Road Sign Assist, cruise control, dusk-sensing headlights, Toyota Touch 2 with Go multimedia system with navigation connectivity for accessing web-based apps, automatic air conditioning, smart entry and rear privacy glass.
