The 2019 Toyota Prius Plug-in will now be available with a new five seat interior changing from a two-seat rear configuration to a three-seat bench that delivers high levels of comfort. As well as room for another passenger, the updated model focuses on greater convenience and choice with a series of new features and options.
Within the improvements, the Prius Plug-in continues to solidify its position as the ideal, environmentally conscious vehicle for today's drivers on today's roads. It delivers an official 217mpg (WLTP data) with ultra-low combined CO2 emissions of 29g/km. With an efficient charging time of only two hours (16 Amp) it allows an EV (electric vehicle) driving range of zero emissions of up to 34 miles.
While traditional interior heating systems rely on generating their hot air from the engine, the Prius Plug-in uses another technology that extracts warmth from the air outside the vehicle in order to maximise the amount of time the internal combustion engine remains switched off.
Inside the updated model, a new seat fabric pattern has been introduced in a choice of two colours: Cool Grey with grey seat bolsters and Black - offering a higher sensory quality. Black accents replace the distinctive white trim accents of the previous version including the centre console, shift lever and steering wheel.
From an exterior perspective, the new Prius Plug-in has been upgraded with the introduction of the Scarlett Flare and Galaxy Black metallic paintwork.
Equipment changes include the provision of a larger wireless
charging tray and the latest specification of Toyota Touch multimedia system.
The two grades: Business Edition and Excel remain unchanged. The standard model
comes with 15-inch alloy wheels, the award-winning Toyota Safety Sense, smart
entry, Toyota Touch 2 with navigation and DAB, wireless phone charging, heated
front seats and two TFT multi-information colour displays. The Excel version
adds leather seat upholstery, a JBL premium audio system and Simple Intelligent
Park Assist with front and rear parking sensors.
