Have you ever wondered what the cars of the future will look like? When it comes to creativity and imagination, children know. Every year Toyota hold an art contest for the drawings of your dream car or your idea of what a car of the future may look like. Would it be powered by recycling? Perhaps it could grow legs to take you the quick way home or to avoid traffic.
What do I need to do?
All you need to do is simply draw your dream car presented against a background that shows where you imagine it being driven. Whether that is on the ground, in the air, underground or even underwater. Please don't use a computer as that is cheating! The paper size must be A3 (or between 27cm-30cm x 42cm-45cm). With a little bit of imagination, creativity and lots of felt tips, crayons, pencils, paper and paint you could be on your way to Japan for the 2018 Toyota Dream Car final.
How long do I have?
You have until Tuesday 18th January 2018 to submit your design. If your artwork is lucky enough to be shortlisted, you will be invited to an awards ceremony in February at Toyota (GB) Headquarters in Epson.
Who can enter?
You must live in the UK and be a part of one of the three age categories: under 8s, 8-11 year olds and 12-15 year olds. You can even turn the art contest into a class project at school!
How do I send in my design?
Fill in the entry form and post your design and completed form to: Dream Car Art Contest, Toyota GB plc, Codestorm House, Walton Road, Farlington, Hants, PO6 1TR. Make sure a parent or guardian signs the entry form, too.
Any questions?
If you have any questions about this year’s Dream Car competition, drop an email to dreamcar@tgb.toyota.co.uk. Full terms and conditions of the competition can be found in the entry form further down the page.
What could I win?
Firstly, you will be entered into the UK competition. Within each of the three age categories an iPad is up for grabs and a UK awards ceremony on the 15th February 2018. Then, the winners from each category will be entered into the worldwide art contest. If your design was to make it to the final, you could be jetting off to Japan for the world-final ceremony in 2018 to see your design turned into the real 3D model! As well as meeting the design experts, visit the Toyota Museum of Industry and Technology and have a look around Toyota's car plant.
