We see thousands of customers every single year who bring their Toyota in to us for a Service or MOT. Many of our customers prefer to make use of our free courtesy cars and go about their day. However, we’re seeing an increasing number of our customers opting to stay in our showrooms and wait whilst their Toyota is serviced or has its MOT test.

All our five centres in Rotherham (Wickersley), Barnsley, Doncaster, Sheffield and Worksop boast state-of-the-art showroom facilities so they offer a great environment to pass a few hours by. However, did you know the towns and cities our centres are located in offer some amazing attractions, parklands, restaurants and children’s play centres - there really is something to do for everyone. That’s why we’ve put together a list of just a small selection of the many attractions throughout South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.

Rotherham

What to do in Rotherham

Magna Science Adventure Park - if your Toyota is with our Rotherham centre for a Service or MOT, why not visit the Magna Science Adventure Park. It’s located just one mile away from our centre so is only a 20 minute walk away. We also have Toyota courtesy cars available so driving is no problem too. It’s packed with many interactive exhibits and displays which will keep the kids (and adults) entertained for hours. The hands-on experiences are based in four pavilions - Earth, fire, water and air.

Clifton Park & Museum - another fantastic attraction to visit in Rotherham whilst your Toyota is with us for a Service or MOT is Clifton Museum. The museum is located in Clifton House which was built in 1783. The museum highlights the rich history of Rotherham and its ancestors with many displays and exhibitions suitable for all ages. Clifton Park gardens are also a great place to relax or get active with a game of tennis, bowls or adventure golf. If you’d like to visit the Clifton Park & Museum whilst your Toyota is with us for Service or MOT, it’s open Monday to Friday 10am - 5pm and Saturdays 9:30am - 5pm.

Wentworth Woodhouse - our third and final suggested attraction to visit in Rotherham whilst your Toyota is with us for Service or MOT is the spectacular Wentworth Woodhouse. Built between 1725 and 1772, it is actually two historic houses joined together with its baroque West Front and Palladian East Front and offers stunning interiors such as the Marble Saloon and Whistlejacket room. Guided tours can be booked direct with the house so why not book a tour when you book your Toyota in for a Service or MOT.

What to do in Barnsley

Cannon Hall Museum & Farm - this is a great place to visit with or without children - there’s something for all ages. The farm is great for kids with a wide variety of animals to see. There is a also a large adventure playground. Adults can enjoy a roam around the farm shop where many local delicacies are available to purchase. Visitors can also see the amazing Georgian interiors of Cannon Hall Museum which is open to the public. The hall dates back to the 1700’s and is grade II listed.

Alhambra Shopping Centre - why not while away a few hours at the Alhambra Shopping Centre whilst your Toyota is with our Barnsley Toyota centre for a Service or MOT. It’s located in Barnsley town centre and is easily accessible by public transport. It boasts over 40 shops and eateries spread over 2 levels, including Next, Wilko, Primark and Iceland.

Experience Barnsley Museum - another fantastic attraction to visit whilst your Toyota is with our Barnsley Toyota centre for Service or MOT is the award-winning Experience Barnsley Museum. This amazing museum is dedicated to the rich history and people of Barnsley. There are many documents, recordings, films and artefacts dating back hundreds of years. Entry is free to the museum so there’s no excuse to visit this great attraction whilst your Toyota is with us for a Service or MOT.

What to do in Doncaster

Conisbrough Castle - there are many fantastic attractions to visit in Doncaster whilst your Toyota is with our Doncaster centre for Service or MOT but we’ve selected just three of our favourites. First up is the magnificent Conisbrough Castle. Whilst your Toyota is having a Service or MOT, make use of our courtesy cars and have a drive out to Conisbrough Castle - you won’t be disappointed. Built in the 1170s, the castle has seen centuries of turbulent history including the Civil War but the striking circular keep still stands proud today. There are many displays, illustrated panels and digital models which bring the castle’s history to life. Why not pay it a visit whilst your Toyota is with our Doncaster centre for a Service or MOT.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park - another great attraction to visit in Doncaster is the Yorkshire Wildlife Park which is the UK’s number one walk-through wildlife attraction. Opened back in 2009, the Wildlife Park was actually built on the site of a former riding school. It’s home to almost 400 animals and 70 different animal species at the Wildlife Park. Some of these include polar bears, lions, tigers, lemurs, leopards, giant otters, camels, baboons, wallabys, painted dogs, black rhinos, giraffes, ostrich, zebras, monkeys, many different creepy crawlies and so much more.

Cusworth HallMuseum & Park - our final suggested Doncaster attraction to visit whilst your Toyota is with us for a Service or MOT is the historic Cusworth Hall Museum & Park. Cusworth Hall is a magnificent Grade I listed building located just outside the town centre. It’s situated in acres of historic parkland which are open all year round and well-behaved dogs are even allowed off the lead. There are various nature walks which are beautiful all year round. There is also a tearoom and bistro situated in the stable block and coach house where breakfast, lunch and a variety of drinks are served.

What to do in Sheffield

Kelham Island Museum - we are very fortunate to have so many great activities and attractions in Sheffield. Suggesting just three activities is extremely difficult but we’ve narrowed it down to our favourite three. A great place to visit whilst your Toyota is with our Sheffield site for a Service or MOT is Kelham Island museum. Located just north of the city centre, it’s conveniently close to our Sheffield dealership. Opened back in 1982, it’s home to various science and Sheffield industry exhibitions. The museum also houses a 12,000 horsepower steam engine which is a must see when visiting.

Meadowhall - anyone from the South Yorkshire area will most certainly have heard of Meadowhall. Opened back in 1990, Meadowhall offers 290 stores and 50 places to eat in a huge 1.4 million square foot floor space. There is also an eleven screen cinema so there’s plenty to do whilst your Toyota is with our Sheffield site for a Service or MOT. Meadowhall in Sheffield is a great place to while away a couple hours whilst your Toyota is with us for a Service or MOT. Make the most of our Toyota courtesy cars and take a trip to Meadowhall whilst your Toyota is with our Sheffield site for a Service or MOT. It’s easy to get to Meadowhall - a simple 15 minute drive so it’s the perfect place to visit.

Graves Park - if you are lucky enough to be graced by good weather whilst your Toyota is with our Sheffield site for its Service or MOT, then Graves Park is the ideal place to visit for a few hours. Located in south Sheffield, you’ll find Graves Park near Norton so it’s not too far to travel if you make use of our Toyota courtesy cars. The park houses an Animal Farm. Entry is free and you’ll find a whole host of rare farm animal breeds with many cattle, chickens, pigs and donkeys. Entry is free and it’s open 7 days week with opening times of 10am to 3:50pm.

Worksop

What to do in Worksop

Clumber Park - there are lots of activities and places to visit in Worksop whilst your Toyota is with our Worksop site for a Service or MOT. One of the most popular visitor attractions in Worksop is the Grade I listed National Trust owned Clumber Park. Located just a 10 minute drive from our Worksop Toyota centre, Clumber park offers beautiful landscapes, woodland and walking trails in parkland covering 3,800 acres. Key points of interest include a four-walled kitchen garden with a 450 feet original glasshouse, the Gothic revival Church of St Mary the Virgin and Clumber Lake which covers 87 acres.

Tropical Butterfly House - a fantastic attraction to visit if you have children with you whilst your Toyota is with us for a Service or MOT is the Tropical Butterfly House. Located in North Anston, the Tropical Butterfly House houses a whole host of wildlife including birds of prey, meerkats, lemurs, snakes, otters, giant tortoises, reptiles, parrots, birds of prey and much much more. There is also a wilderness walk, dinosaur trail, picnic area, café and play zone so theirs is lots to keep both adults and children entertained whilst you wait for your Toyota to be serviced at our Worksop Toyota centre.

Mr Straw’s House (National Trust) - waiting in the showroom whilst your Toyota is in for a Service or MOT is not for everyone so why not visit the National Trust owned Mr Straw’s House. Located on Blyth Grove, the house is extremely accessible from our Worksop Toyota centre, being only a 30 minute walk or 7 minute drive away. The house is like stepping back in time and offers visitors a glimpse of 1930’s living.


We’ve only compiled a small selection of places you could visit whilst your Toyota is with us for a Service or MOT but there are literally hundreds of amazing places to visit and see. We hope this list provides some food for thought.
