The Kia Sorento is available with a powerful 2.2 litre diesel engine or now, for the first time ever, a hybrid engine. Hybrid power is produced by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor which is powered by a 1.49 kWh (64 kW discharge / 49 kW charge) lithium-polymer battery pack. The hybrid engine strikes the perfect balance between great performance and optimum fuel efficiency. There is also a Regenerative Braking System which converts kinetic energy to recharge the battery, thus reducing emissions whilst driving.
The Sorento is equally at home on urban roads or on rugged terrain. The continuously active All-Wheel Drive technology ensures the Sorento maintains superb traction on slippery surfaces and rough terrain. This system also helps when cornering which is extremely beneficial. The Terrain Mode Select system offers four Drive Modes: Eco, Comfort, Sport and Smart, as well as three Terrain Modes which are Snow, Mud and Sand.
