No more visits to the pumps. Simply plug in at home or at a public charge point to charge the battery, then enjoy a quiet drive with zero tailpipe emissions. No tax, cheaper to run and better for the environment.
A Plug-in Hybrid gives you all the benefits of a Self-Charging Hybrid but it has a larger battery. This means you can plug it in at home or at a public charge point to give you a 30 mile electric range. When the electric range is depleted, the car automatically switches to self-charging hybrid mode.
There is no need to plug-in, just simply fill up with petrol and go. The advanced system uses regenerative braking to charge the battery when you slow down. This means you can drive on battery power at low speeds to save fuel and reduce emissions.
The mild hybrid’s advanced motor unit can seamlessly switch between motor and generator modes. When slowing down, the generator charges the battery and the engine shuts off to save fuel. When you touch the accelerator, the motor instantly starts the engine and helps with acceleration.

The Sportage line up now includes Kia’s ‘EcoDynamics+’ mild-hybrid powertrain options. EcoDynamics+ supplements acceleration with power form a 48-Volt battery, extends engine ‘off time’ and can even help reduce CO2 emissions by up to 4% on the Worldwide harmonised Light vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP).
